This is the 3rd day we were in town. After venturing Western cuisine (Greek food – Stalactites, fish & chip, burgers – Grill D), it is time to try some Asia cuisine in Melbourne. Then we decided for Korean BBQ at Dae Jang Geum.
It is easy to locate the restaurant, near to the entrance of Chinatown. The restaurant is huge. However, I do not like the interior – simple & traditional (anyway, this is my personal comment).
We ordered a set which cost a about AUD 100. The set offer variety of beef including the premium beef, chicken and pork. Don’t worry, it wasn’t a cheap meat by all means.
The meat is so tender and juicy and literally melted in my month. I was so happy to just eat it by itself without the sauce. It was that good.
I love the side dishes at Korean restaurants, they’re always quite different but would usually include kimchi (chilli pickled Chinese cabbage). It is free flow, so you can ask to to top up when you’ve finished them.
Although Dae Jang Geum is a little on the expensive side, it was well worth it I thought. It’s a restaurant I would return to time and time again.
