If you are in Ipoh, I bet that the first that crosses your mind will be Dim Sum since there are so many dim sum restaurant here. The popular among the tourist would be Foh San, Ming court and Yoke Fook Moon.
This time, I chosen Foh San due to we have total of 17 people from baby to elderly and Foh San is best known for it’s better ambient & spacious.
Since this restaurant is very famous, it is always packed especially during peak season example public holiday & weekend and their peak hours will be from 6:30am ~ 10:30am. (ps: there is no proper queue system and you want to get your table at your own)
We had ordered quite a number of dim sum as you can’t resist it either you order at counter or they come to you with the portable stall. But before that, please get your order card first。(ps: The waiter will approach you right after you get your table, just name your preferable tea and they will serve you the tea and order card. Then bring along the order card whenever you order your favorite dim sums)
Some specialties to highlight.
Steamed milk with ginger extract 姜汁燉奶
Clay Pot Pork Porridge with Century Egg (皮蛋瘦肉粥), can serve 3-4 small bowl
Prawn Cheong Fun 港式猪肠粉
Chili & Eggplant stuffed with meat 酿辣椒酿茄子
All in all, Foh San dim sums are definitely a bit more pricey than most dim sum restaurants yet in return you get a decent and comfortable dining place.
Suffice to say, I was very satisfied with the food there. Not only has Foh San lives up to the hype, their Dim Sum are really fresh
