瑪嘉烈蛋撻@Margaret’s Cafe e Nata

A lot of the bloggers comments that the Portuguese Egg Tarts (by Margaret’s) shouldn’t be missed  during Macau visit.  Therefore, I had included Margaret’s Cafe e Nata as my check in list.

The cafe actually tucked away in a hidden alley and I would say that it is no easy feat looking for this place unless you know Macau well. But no worries, I will show you the way (scroll to the bottom of the page and you will find the way) ! It is located not too far from the Grand Lisboa. So Grand Lisboa will be your landmark. (ps: if you having difficulty finding the shop, just ask any local).

So now, concentrate at their famous Portuguese Egg Tart first.  The crust is crispy, flaky and buttery, and the egg filling is sweet, soft and silky smooth. It is so nice to eat especially just  freshly baked.

There are also variety of sandwiches that Margaret’s offers too.

It same like t he Chinese version of Subway Station – Choose your bread, your filling, and any others before making your way over to the counter to pay!

The drinks – coffee / milk tea, not really recommended. Keep your $$ and look for better coffee / milk tea later.

The address:

Margaret’s Café e Nata 玛嘉烈蛋挞
Gum Loi Building, Rua Alm Costa Cabral R/C
Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, Macau
Tel: (853) 2871 0032

Opening Hours: Daily 630am to 10pm (Closed on Wed)

** If you are at ferry terminal, take a free shuttle bus to Lisboa Casino. Margaret’s Café e Nata is just 230m away from Lisboa Casino. All you have to do is walk towards the direction of Senado Square.

Follow the above map direction, once you get out from Grand Lisboa, follow the road straight until you reach cross road with traffic (of course, you will pass through Escola Portuguese de Macau too), try to check for ” Luk Fook Jewellery” outlet, 六福珠宝 (as picture below showed), then you will find the “Margaret’s” sign in front of you. Good Luck!

Note: Margaret’s occupies an unassuming space with outdoor seating surrounding a tiny bare bones bakery. Always crowded!! Don’t expect much in terms of service at Margaret’s & DO NOT  take photo inside the restaurant, else,  you will get TROLLED!
