Lian Xiang Lou is very much a traditional dim sum restaurant where servers still push trays of dim sum around to the customers for them to choose. The decoration is very 70s and strangers just get seated with each other.
It was EXTREMELY busy when we were there and it was really hard to get attention and food. In fact, we ended up having to walk to the dim sum carts to get food ourselves. It is a mad scene when new food came out of the kitchen and people just walked up to the carts themselves instead of waiting at the table.
In fact, all you need is a little bit patient and survival skill in this restaurant. Because no one will pay attention at you. Everyone seem busy with their own works.
Very 70’s menu.
First thing first – Tea. Ask people to serve you tea first, before you moving around for the dim sum.
腸粉加甜醬、麻醬 (One of the traditional dim sum dish)
Overall comment – the food is so so, the services is poor, the price is consider OK for Hong Kong standard of living. (ps: just visit there if you want to feel the old Hong Kong)
